GP principals Patrick Loughran, FAIA, PE, LEED AP, and Scott Seyer, AIA, LEED AP, will be speaking at this year’s AIA Convention in Philadelphia. Their presentation “Silence of the Plans, Designing Facades with Acoustical Isolation” takes place on Friday, May 20, from 2:00–3:00 p.m.
Loughran and Seyer will look at the importance of acoustics in architectural design today, exploring strategies used at different types of facilities. Case studies will include the Northwestern University Ryan Center for the Musical Arts, a new signature facility on the school’s Evanston campus, and 150 North Riverside, a 54-story office tower currently under construction along the Chicago River.
